In 2025 48% of individuals who moved up through Rogue Retreat Programs found their own stable housing.
Rogue Retreat serves people experiencing homelessness in Southern Oregon. They provide shelter and housing first, then surround each person with the supportive services they need to rebuild their lives and return to the community.
Housing needs are served in safe, supportive environments where individuals can stabilize and begin rebuilding their lives through:
- Shelter and managed camping
- Transitional housing
- Shared housing and apartments
With strong community support, Rogue Retreat offers case management, peer support, access to healthcare and addiction recovery programs, job training, and essential resources. Together these services help individuals overcome barriers, gain independence, and move toward long term stability. “One of our greatest assets is that we work with other agencies,” said Executive Director Sam Engel.

Workforce Development is essential to helping individuals build productive lives. “We have so many people who really want to work,” said Jana Stanley, Senior Social Enterprises Manager.
- Hope Kitchen serves 400 meals daily. It relies on donations of goods from ACCESS, St. Vincent de Paul, and private donors, along with purchased goods, and a community garden at the Kelly Shelter. Hope Kitchen hosts a 12-week internship program that introduces participants to working in a commercial kitchen, providing valuable experience in food service and increasing their chances of securing and maintaining employment in the industry.
- Hope Kitchen Catering Service provides job training and offers catered meals and boxes – available to the public. To see menus and prices contact [email protected] or visit www.rogueretreat.org/catering/.
- Hopeful Secondhand, Rogue Retreat’s thrift store on North Riverside, provides workforce training for clients, inexpensive goods, and opportunities for community members to volunteer. Hopeful Secondhand welcomes donations of clothing and household items.
- Hope Streets is a transformative program that offers job opportunities. It gives Rogue Retreat participants the opportunity to gain valuable job experience and earn a living.
