Medford Cowork Collective Celebrates Five Years with Birthday Cake and a Pitch It Event

As MCC marked its 5th birthday, they turned the spotlight on the dreamers, doers, and creators who make Southern Oregon an innovation destination.

On February 13, attendees enjoyed birthday cake and other food and beverage items and participated in a Pitch It.
As the invitation stated about the Pitch It, “Got a business idea brewing? A project you’re passionate about? Here’s your chance to take the stage and share it with an engaged, supportive audience. Whether you’re a seasoned entrepreneur or just starting to explore your concept, this is your platform to practice, learn, and grow.”

The Pitch It was organized by Kim Freeze of Southern Oregon Innovation Hub who explained, “A Pitch It
creates community and connection and allows people to share ideas and garner support for their
businesses and resources.”

To start off, attendees formed small groups and each group was given a “crazy” product/business idea
to “pitch.” Among the “crazy” were caffeinated toothpaste; a drone that finds your wallet, phone, or
whatever, a translator app that lets you converse with your pet; and a “Breakup Bestie” that sends you
warm emails and texts and deletes all photos of your ex.

Then people were invited to pitch serious business visions of their own.

Medford Cowork Collective was Abigail Schilling’s vision of helping people who work individually “office” economically and connect with others. She brought her vision into reality five years ago. DMA congratulates Abigail on making her vision a reality and on the impact MCC has made on our community.

Medford Cowork Collective is located at 122 East Main Street. More information can be found on their
website, on social media, or by calling 541-727-1432.
