I am happy to report that Craving Cave is now open in Medford. It has been a successful business in Ashland and now expanded to Medford at 16 N Front Street in the old Howiee’s location. It a great place to have lunch, dinner, or watch sports. The open dining room and bar make it easy to watch different shows on TV and people watch…or even catch your server’s eye.
The menu is not limited, and everyone should be able to find something they will enjoy eating or drinking. I would describe the menu as gourmet pub-style food. There is a full bar with beers on tap, beers in the bottle, and all types of liquor served simple or fancy.
I looked over the menu, back and front, front and back, but ultimately decided on Ceviche. It is an appetizer, but I wanted something fresh, but not a salad. I was a little nervous ordering a sort-of-raw shrimp dish on a Monday in a place I had never gone to, but I was pleasantly surprised at the freshness and portion size. I would order this dish again!
Richard, my lunch partner, ordered the Klari’s chicken. He described it as a Mexican Chicken Cordon Bleu – chicken breast stuffed with cheese and bacon covered in sauce and served with rice or salad. It has bacon and cheese so you know it will be good. It is their own signature dish, Yummy!
The Cave has the basics you would expect – pizza, burgers, salads, tacos, burritos, fries, but it seems like they have put a little extra zing in everything. For example, they have six different fries plates, including steak, waffles and fries, and chicken tenders and fries.
If you are thinking of a more home comfort meal, they serve roasted chicken and BBQ ribs. If you are thinking Mexican, then there are six burritos. Tacos? Street tacos for you. You brought the kids? No problem, they have a kid’s meal. If you say, but Krista, I just want some apps with my beer. They have wings, poppers, and quesadillas. If you say, there is nothing on the menu I like, well then, I have no words for you.
If you are an introvert or can’t leave the office, they have DoorDash, so you have no excuse not to try them out. They are open every day from 11am to 11 or 12pm.
