“One of the most delightful and delicious meals I have had in Downtown Medford. A definite repeat, repeat, and repeat!” said Lindsay Berryman.
The Downtown Dining Divas were first-timers at Namaste. Lindsay was no novice at Indian food, but Phyllis had only eaten it once or twice. “We were delighted to have our server, Yodesh who came to the US from India just one and a half years ago, make recommendations for us,” said Phyllis.
Yodesh was spot on. We ordered Mix Vegetable Pakora and Chicken Pakora for appetizers – with a glass of wine (of course).
Yodesh recommended several chicken dishes, and Phyllis chose Chicken Madras with a South Indian style coconut curry sauce. Lindsay chose Lamb Korma simmered gently in a mild almond cream sauce. We ordered Plain Naam bread, although there were lots of different varieties of Naam and other breads on the menu.
Namaste’s menu is quite extensive and features Appetizers, Tandoori Oven Dishes, Rice Dishes, Breads, Vegetarian Entrees, Chicken Entrees, Lamb and Goat Entrees, Seafood Entrees, and even a few Indian Desserts. It would take many visits to explore the whole menu of fragrantly spiced dishes. (Check out their menu on their website!)
The restaurant really filled up on a weekday evening, and typical of Medford some friends showed up. Scott and Leesa Henselsman and their granddaughter Lexi were at a table across the room, so we had to go over and compare notes on our dinners.
Lexi, who is a student at North Medford High, told us she eats at Namaste all the time. She said she appreciates the high quality of the food and especially likes the rice because “it is very earthy in the best way possible.” Scott said, “The cauliflower appetizer (Gobi Pakora – Battered and fried cauliflower) is delicious.”
Our recommendation – Just Go! Get Yodesh to give you some recommendations and enjoy some very delightful flavors!
