Don’t miss this new place on the Downtown Medford Food & Beverage scene: The District Wine Bar, located at 300 N Fir Street and open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 4-8pm.
As you can see in the photo, the word wine has a line through it. That is because it’s not just another wine bar. Owner Linda Donovan invites you to enjoy specialty cocktails, appetizers from her growing food menu, and of course, wine.
Specialty cocktails include District One and District Two Gin and Tonic, Old Fashioned, Royal Julep, Sotol Margarita, Aperol Sprit, Negroni, and Espresso Martini – to name a few.
District Red Blend and District White Blend are the featured wines, along with City Center IPA beer and some non-alcoholic drinks.
Want something special and delightful to eat? Try an appetizer like Tomato Crostini, Prosciutto & Fruit, or Dirty Martini Dip. The District also serves really nice salads like Tomato Burrata, Salad Nicoise, and the District Wedge. Smoked Salmon, Brie & Prosciutto, and Spinach/Avocado crepes add to The District’s upscale menu – and if you are looking for something sweet try the Fresh Fruit & Cream or a Deconstructed Pavlova.
. . . And the place is GORGEOUS. Filled with natural light, the bar’s floor-to-ceiling glass garage doors open to a grassy area with views of a vibrant wine mural painted by renowned artist Eidan Gidon. (Just think about sitting out there on a warm summer evening.) The floors inside are made of porcelain tiles in a black and white chevron pattern and the international touch continues with porcelain slabs from Italy on the bar and back wall.
The District Wine Bar is part of the City Center Wine District. This up-and-coming wine mecca is growing into an all-encompassing wine experience. From wine making, to wine tasting, to event spaces and lounges, the City Center Wine District is something to have on your radar for all things wine. This full city block in Downtown Medford is also the home of Pallet Wine Company and The Urban Cork Tasting Room, as well as private event spaces, The Barrel Room and Finnegan’s Lounge. All this is the brainchild of winemaker Linda Donovan, who started her vision in 2009 with Pallet Wine Company.
