There are some great vacant spaces in Downtown Medford just waiting for new businesses to move in and add to the revitalization of our downtown!
DMA was thrilled to host a third Reimagine Downtown Medford Tour on April 16. The tour brought community members together to explore a few vacant buildings and participate in interactive discussion on how these spaces can be creatively utilized.
Tour participants will be sharing their thoughts through a survey. However, ideas were flying around during the tour like – “more restaurants, a brewery, retail and more retail, a grocery store, a pharmacy, a space with lots of different vendors” . . . etc.
The tour started out at the former Palace Hotel, which is upstairs above Kahlo and Tartine and other businesses in that block on Central and Eighth Streets. Actually, that upstairs is in the process of being converted into market rate apartments by Fortify Holdings.
The next stop was 2 East Main, a former bank, that houses Rogue Valley Times on the upper level above the vacant space.
Then came 1 West Main which houses Procare, PRS, and Rogue Disposal on the upper floors. The lower floor has over 21,000 sq/ft of space, which can be used in its entirety or divided.
The last building on the tour was the RCC Building at Eighth and Riverside. If you have been here long enough, you may remember it as the old Montgomery Ward building.
. . . And the final stop was Kahlo Exotic Grill for post-tour networking.
