Coffee drinks, fruit drinks, shave ice made with real fruit, all kinds of snacks and light entrees, including fruit with yogurt, street corn in a cup, churros, and even tamales – are all on the menu at Sugar and Spice.
They are open Sunday through Friday from 7am to 8pm, so you can stop by for your morning coffee, breaktime, lunch, or a late afternoon “pick-me-up.” Enjoy your drink and or food to go or at one of their quiet tables inside or outside at 259 W Eighth Street in the new Genesis apartment complex.
Sugar and Spice is owned by Angel Carrillo and his father Inmer Carrillo. Angel’s sister, Nallely Drew, works behind the counter. They also own the drive-through Sugar and Spice on W Main and previously owned Sugar and Spice in Ashland near Mountain Meadows.
After owning their West Main drive-through store since 2017, Angel and his father wanted a place for people to sit down and enjoy their food and beverages. They stay open later than your usual coffee shop because of the vast array of food items they serve.
Angel says, “I like the location. It gets busy before work, then slows down while people are at work, then picks up at lunch and coffee break times. I like Downtown Medford and want to get more involved.”
(Of course, I told him about Third Friday and also how to become a DMA Partner.)
