As former Mayor of Medford, I know a lot of special places to dine. One of my very favorites is Pomodori Osteria and Bar.
From ease of making a reservation, to ease of customer parking, to walking in the door to smiling, friendly staff (Even the owner, John Bohn, gives a wave and a quick “Here’s my tonight’s special!”), I know dinner at Pomodori will be a delightful experience.
If you want to taste a little bit of Italy, Pomodori is the place to feel and smell and savor it. They serve a wide variety of Italian entrees, including Chicken Carbonara, Lobster Fettuccini, and Veal Piccata. Personally, I can’t resist the Chicken Piccata – tender chicken, creamy pasta and yummy flavor.
Pomodori offers wonderful appetizers like Fresh Tomato Bruschetta and Stuffed Mushrooms with Lobster and Red Pepper Aioli, and also yummy salads. The Blue Cheese Wedge and Chopped Salad are delicious, as is their signature Classic Caesar. Best of all, each entrée comes with a side Classic Caesar or a cup of soup.
Seating is easy and personable and the extra overflow room – known as Pomodori Private Dining – is like being at home with family. On a recent evening there was a long family-style table set up for about 20 people of all ages celebrating an 80th birthday and chatting across the table.
As we make our way to our favorite table, I see many people I know enjoying their favorite fare and we share “hellos” and I feel at home. One of my most fun things to do is chat with friends at the bar. There is always someone there I know.
Everybody is there! You could be too!
Pomodori is located at 410 East Main Street and is open for dinner Tuesdays through Saturdays, starting at 5pm.
