“If you are looking for mouthwatering food, refreshing spirits, and a great place to unwind, then The Rocky Tonk Saloon is the spot for you. Since 2012, we have provided our customers here in Medford a fun place to hang out, great American style food, and a fully stocked bar. At our location, you can enjoy some great concerts, play some games and even do some dancing,” says The Rocky Tonk’s website.
Go up the stairs at 333 East Main, or take the elevator inside the back entrance on Middleford Alley, and you will be in a 7000 sq/ft venue for country music good times. The Rocky Tonk is open from 5pm – 11ish Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 5pm – 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Country music is on the jukebox most nights, with a DJ some nights, and even some live concerts by national touring country artists. The Rocky Tonk is available for private parties, banquets, and company events.
Line dancing happens on Wednesday night with lessons at 7pm followed by open dance. Dancing also happens on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Rocky Tonk is owned by 37-year-old Nisha Mora. Nisha has worked in the food and beverage industry since she was 13, spending years at Denny’s and Olive Garden. She opened Claim Jumper in Tualatin before she was 21 and then worked at a bar in Tigard, where she learned the bar business. Nisha decided she would rather make money for herself, rather than for others, and that is when she purchased The Rocky Tonk – seven years ago. This is her first time doing live music and says, “I love concerts.”
Nisha considers community very important. She is a CASA and Board President of David’s Chair.
Nisha says, “I love downtown and my neighbors. I like to provide a fun, safe environment for everyone to have a good time. DMA brings people together and helps beautify downtown with lights and flowers. The City of Medford and MPD are both doing a great job. If I ever have a problem, they’re here for me.”
“I am excited for what the future will bring to downtown. There is great potential here,” concluded Nisha.
I heard about a comedy event to benefit seniors on the radio but can’t find anything or anywhere to buy tickets. It’s supposed to be at The Rocky Tonk and is called falling is not funny.
