ReFashion is a great place to go on Third Friday! They always have wine and snacks. Sometimes they have tastings by local wineries. They have vendors like Weld and Wander (permanent jewelry) in August and Lucky Locks (silk hair tinsels) coming up this month. In July they had fabulous cupcakes from Seize the Cake to celebrate their first anniversary of being in Downtown. . . . And then there’s all the fashionable clothes to look at. No wonder ReFashion has been drawing a good crowd on Third Friday!
ReFashion Consignment Boutique was established 15 years ago. Kaitlin Kinney bought it two years ago when it was on Stevens Street. She has made many changes and moved to downtown last July.
They carry high quality, trendy, name brand merchandise in all sizes, as well as shoes and designer purses. While the front of the store is filled with great women’s clothing, they also carry men’s clothing and have added a home décor section in the loft called Casa.
ReFashion is a seasonal shop, summer clothes in spring and summer and winter clothes in fall and winter. They take consignments for 90 days. Sixty percent of the selling price goes to the shop and 40 % goes to the consignee. If you want to consign there, you can walk in with your items on Wednesdays and show up by appointment on Saturdays. Things that don’t sell are donated to local charities.
When asked why they moved to Downtown, Kaitlin said they wanted to be part of a more vibrant community. “We thought retail is a good addition to Downtown. We have seen Downtown show a lot of progress and growth and we wanted to be part of it,” said Kaitlin.
When asked how Downtown could improve: “More Retail! We have some fabulous spaces available in the main part of Downtown. Parking is an issue. I would love to see 2-hour parking, which would give people enough time to shop, meander, have coffee . . . Downtown could do a better job of keeping the area free of transients and have more events like street fairs,” added Kaitlin
