Curtain Call Collective Launches New Downtown Arts Initiative Supporting Inclusive Theater Programs
Curtain Call Collective has taken over the former Johnny B’s spot on 6th Street. Curtain Call Collective is a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to the performing arts, by creating inclusive theater opportunities for youth and adults in the Rogue Valley — particularly individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The organization plans to offer professional entertainment as well as theater classes and creative workshops designed to help participants build confidence, social skills, and artistic expression through the performing arts.
Founder and Executive Director Robin Downward, a longtime Rogue Valley theater producer, said the organization was created to bring people together through creativity and shared experience.

“Entertainment is important, but theater and performance are about more than just putting on a show,” said Downward. “At their best, they create connection. They create belonging. Our goal is to build a place where people can laugh, celebrate creativity, and feel like they’re part of something. At the same time, the shows we produce help fund programs that give people in our community — especially those who often feel left out — a place where they truly belong.”
The redesigned venue will feature cabaret-style seating for about 50 people with a 1950s Cuban theme. Food and beverage service during events will allow guests to enjoy live entertainment in a relaxed and social atmosphere. Programming will primarily take place on Friday and Saturday evenings, with events including stand-up comedy, variety acts, trivia nights, live music, film screenings, and other variety performances. Select Sunday midday events will also be scheduled, featuring brunch and entertainment.
All proceeds from ticket sales, food and beverage service, and entertainment events will directly support Curtain Call Collective’s nonprofit programs and help expand arts access throughout the Rogue Valley.
